Today is June 12, 2001. Our daughter, Dena Raley-McCluskey would have been 38 years old today.

20 months ago, our daughter disappeared from this earth, never to be seen or heard from again. She was last known to have been with an EX-BOYFRIEND who had been stalking her. He refuses to help us or the police and has disappeared from Modesto. He did confirm he was the last one to see her alive, but refuses to say any more. He also refused to take a polygraph. He got himself an attorney and with an attorney, one does not have to do or say anything.

The police refuse to do anything on this case. They say without a body, they have no crime. They refuse to follow through with witness information, telling us they are overworked and understaffed. They openly admitted in the Modesto Bee on October 14th that they have dropped the ball. They also admitted they had put her file in a drawer pending someone coming forward with information as to where her body might be found. In short, they want US and YOU to solve the crime for them.

On April, a Modesto woman also disappeared while completing an internship in Washington, D.C..

You all know her...Chandra Levy. Because Chandra's father is a doctor, she seems to be deemed more news worthy. You see her name all over the TV and all over the newspapers. Because she was a STUDENT, she had COMPLETED an INTERNSHIP with the prison system in Washington, DC. She was NOT a member of our polotical system, she was a student. But because she had "connections", her case is front and center on everyone's mind. She is getting help from every angle. I am so very happy she is getting this publicity...our family is very happy for her family. We pray for her safe return. We pray for her parents. We KNOW what they are going through. We wish them NOTHING but the very best. Our concern, why can't we get the help for our child that has been given Chandra Levy ??????? Is our daughter less worthy because her father isn't a doctor??? Is our daughter less deserving because she was past the student period in her life???? Is our daughter less important because we don't have the political connections the Levy's apparently have???

The answer to all these questions is N O!!!!!!!!!

There have been political figures step forward posting rewards for Chandra. NO ONE HAS DONE THIS FOR DENA. I ask you...why is that????

I ask everyone reading this to P L E A S E forward this message to as many of your e-mail friends as possible. I want this message to reach around the world. I want EVERYONE to know we LOVE DENA and we need your help. Also, in the front of your Pacific Bell phone book are lists of "political" figureheads with their e-mail address. Would each of you send a copy of this to each of those people???? We need to get as much exposure as possible. Since we are just John Q. Citizens, like all of you, we have to do the work ourselves. Please help our family.

I hope no one thinks that Chandra's father being a doctor (a noble profession, yes; but powerful? pooh!) Chandra is in the limelight because the media can make a bigger story out of it than simply a missing person. We're talking power, sex, scandal. A media dream.

Personally, I wish that all missing persons could be afforded the same attention. No reason they shouldn't. I blame the media pimps.

As of July 31st My sister's case will be re-opened and worked on until we have some answers!!!

Mikie and all: According to the photos, Dena's hair is natural (not a wig). I now have 5 additional photos. She is beautiful and has dark hair, however the last photo of Dena was at a time she only weighed 90 Lb and that is one of the photos seen on the link 'Murphys Web Design'. I will transfer copy Dena's photos as soon as possible into my MSN community 'Missing Children Photo Album by LadyBug' and provide the link in this thread.

I don't think we've discussed this before, but I'd be willing to bet anything that it was someone she knew. Especially an adult like this.

Someone she refused to date?
Was she involved in anything like a seedy lifestyle? I would assume not, but thought I'd ask.

Question. If she was going to "pick up" medication from EX, then why was HE the one to report her missing? Why didn't her aunt or other family member report her missing? If she didn't show up for work, they wouldn't call her EX, would they?

Why would family warn her to not see Ex?

I don't know what Dena's work schedule was...nites or days at the Stanislaus Co. Courthouse. There was a celebration in Riverbank (town nearby)POP 15,000 with near 100,000 revelers in route to celebrate. Traffic would be heavy on the Oakdale RD where most would travel and her car was found. Traveleres wouldn't have noticed Dena's car if it was parked in that spot or not.

Dena had been abused in the EX relationship...that is why her family begged her not to go there, but she needed her prescription medication. EX reported her missing but refused a lie detector and has left the state. (last report I heard)

Her family may not have expected to hear from her for a few days or/and her time off. I don't know about her job...they could have tried to call her ...and I don't know how he knew to report her missing only two guesses (1) her employers called her phone number or reference number (2) true something was fishy in Modesto ...

It all means the same thing as on the 12th. She met someone new and exciting. The person was wealthy. She had a sexual relationship with the person. She was the life of the party. She worked hard to meet her partner's needs...then she vanished.

Thus, when she went to her ex's to get her medications, she met someone there. With that person, a spiritual person, a wealthy person, she had a romantic affair. She succumbed to his desires.

Question: what was her medication for? Depression?

I was saying that if she was just buzzing by his place real quick, then I'm saying it's kind of obvious that, since he's the one reporting her missing, that maybe that wasn't the ONLY time in those couple days she saw him.

TURLOCK -- Police say they have identified the body found last week buried in a field and now are asking for the public's help in tracking the victim's last days.

Authorities named Martina Polk as the victim, based on dental records, and described her as a 34-year-old Turlock woman. The identification was made Friday, and family members were notified this week. ( continue link)

Birgitta Your information was submitted. Unfortunately family, although they have tried, has been unable to obtain legal owner permit to search the area we spoke of. They cant set foot on the property or would risk arrest.

Message from Dena's sister, Sonja Johnson 1-26-03 who declined to be interviewed when she disagreed in what the TV station format would involve. Her Mother and Stepmother did tape the show.

I would be interested in knowing more and what excuses the MPD used for not searching the boy friends house and vehicle/s...

Speaking of missing people their is a 17 year old girl who has been missing in Texarkana, Texas for over 5 years.
I figure she is dead, I'm sure she is dead but her body has never been found and she just vanished from her home, nobody saw anything or knows anything sound familiar..

Her name is Lisa Eubanks and she 6 feet tall white female, I think her mother died recently, grieved her self to death.

"Dena Raley-McCluskey Missing but not Forgotten"

Donna Raley and Susan Levy wanted to check a psychic's claim that a clue to the disappearance of Raley's stepdaughter might be under a Modesto home.
Rather than wait for the police, Raley, Levy and some friends headed to the house Monday and asked people living there if they could dig around underneath.

They didn't find what they were looking for, but they aren't giving up hope. Police investigators said they aren't giving up, either.

"We tried to do it very quietly, without attracting the attention of the media," said Raley, whose stepdaughter, Dena McCluskey, has been missing for four years. "I am just desperately looking for my daughter."

McCluskey's boyfriend reported her missing Oct. 13, 1999. The next day, police found her 1987 Nissan Stanza on Oakdale Road in northeast Modesto. McCluskey's keys and purse were missing from the unlocked car.

Levy's daughter, Chandra, disappeared more than two years ago in Washington, D.C. Her remains were found almost a year ago.

Susan Levy and Donna Raley met after Chandra Levy disappeared. The two formed Wings of Protection, a support group for families whose loved ones are missing or murdered.

Well-known psychic Sylvia Browne told Raley on Monday that a marker could be found under a Modesto home indicating where McCluskey was buried. McCluskey's family believes she was killed. Raley said Browne mentioned going under the house when the two met during a recent taping of the Montel Williams television show.

"Susan Levy and I were together for the day for Wings of Protection and emotions were running high because of a lot of stuff," Raley said. "She said, 'Why don't we knock on the door and go and ask them if we can go under the house?' Normally I'm the voice of reason, but that day I said I didn't care."

Raley would not disclose the address of the home to protect the privacy of the family living there. Levy, Raley, McCluskey's mother, Barbara West, and a few friends and relatives crawled under the house. Raley said they didn't find the marker.

But she's hoping police will send cadaver-sniffing dogs to continue the search.

"I understand the police have protocol to follow and I think (Modesto chief) Roy Wasden and (Capt.) Greg Savelli are wonderful, top-notch police officers," Raley said. "But I'm losing my voice of reason and I'm getting frustrated with the police department."

She said the police have a letter that gives details about what happened to McCluskey and offers clues as to who is responsible for her disappearance. She's also frustrated at the attention the Laci Peterson case has received. Peterson, 27, was reported missing Christmas Eve, and her body and that of her unborn son were found last month. Her husband, Scott Peterson, has been charged with two counts of murder.

"If they had gotten a letter from someone confessing the murder of Laci Peterson, would it have laid on someone's desk for a few weeks?" Raley asked. "Then why is it in this case?"

Savelli confirmed that the police department got a letter and said it is being analyzed.

"She is seeing the media blitz in the Peterson case and she feels they didn't get that three years ago, but that's not true," Savelli said. "We worked just as hard on that case in the first few weeks, but after 3 1/2 years, the facts and evidence are not coming in as fast as it was."

He also said the police department has requested a copy of the show on which Browne and Raley discussed the McCluskey case.

"We would like to look at the interview and see if it really is valid and worth checking into," Savelli said. "We can't just go up to a house, knock on the door and say we want to check the basement.

"But the fact that she was able to do it, I say good for her. We want to bring Dena home as much as everyone else."

thank you for joining us, I didn't mean to upset you by my comment, it was just a thought that if the home owners were involved somehow, you would have tipped them off by going there without the police. With the Peterson case taking the turn it is, Dena's case is coming back into the spotlight. I hope they do dig deeper and find answers that you are waiting for. Is her X still living in the area? Did he have any tattoos?

Sonja, I'm sorry about what happened to your sister, I hope someday soon, the police will catch her killer and your whole family will finally find peace knowing justice is being served.

Anyway, I need more info on this Mark Keough character. What is his socio-economic level? Has he ever had any managerial jobs? Any idea what state or city he moved to?

Also, what reason do the police give for not giving their all?

Is their a Missing Persons photo of Dena that I could help distribute?
