Peterson puzzle depends on pieces

So far, it's all about circumstantial evidence.
No smoking gun has emerged in Scott Peterson's ongoing preliminary hearing, watched and reported and dissected for 2 1/2 weeks by news writers and camera crews from across the continent.

No cause of death. No murder weapon. No eyewitness.

No problem, say prosecutors.

Authorities hope to convince a judge that the 31-year-old former fertilizer salesman should stand trial on charges that he murdered his pregnant wife, Laci, and unborn son, Conner. The preliminary hearing should conclude this week, perhaps as soon as a day or two.
